BRIO'GEL, L'ENTREPRISE |
 |
A new concept |
| In place of the already baked brioche, why not propose to bakers, either artisans or supermarkets a range of frozen raw products which they can cook to obtain a highly personal finished product ? It was from Christophe Babarit’s innovative idea, with the support of his employer ‘La Boulangère’ that « Brio’gel » was born on the 1st of September 1997. It was due to this concept that baker’s work was lightened since the constraints of kneading and shaping were eliminated whilst enabling the daily sale of fresh brioche from the oven. |
 |
A quick growth |
Brio'gel
success was immediate.
Supermarket distribution counts for 80% of its turnover, and 20% artisan bakers via wholesalers. In order to meet the challenge of its development in 2000 Brio’gel increased its premises by an extra 1,300 m² to arrive at a total surface area of 3,500 m². Apart from raw frozen brioche, Brio’gel also manufactures Tropézienne pies and cooked frozen bottereaux (doughnuts the range of which has rapidly increased with the manufacture of filled bottereaux (Brio’kids). |
 |
Diversified ranges |
| That same year, still for the purposes of diversification, Brio’gel founded ‘La Mie Georgeoise' a subsidiary specialised in the manufacture of pre-cooked frozen breads based on the same principle as the brioche. Firstly on the ecological bread market, La Mie Georgoise in 2004 launched two new ranges of rustic and special bread to meet a market demand for varied and authentic breads. |
 |
A commitment |
| The commitment of Brio’gel is to be professional at the service of professionals, and meet the requirements of the quality product market which has respect for traditional methods of production, a rigorous selection of raw materials, and the highest food safety standards. |
 |
An International ambition |
| At an international level, Brio’gel is present throughout Spain’s major supermarket distribution, via its subsidiary Brio’gel Iberica at Barcelona, and in England. Other European countries are in the process of being prospected. |
