“The reason why our company is fantastic is simple – it’s because the people who work here are fantastic! ”

The company’s objective is to achieve financial results which will allow us to develop social projects.

The company is stakeholder in society and has a real responsibility to its employees.

OUR COMMITMENTS

Christophe_Babarit_PDG_Briogel

ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE & A FAMILY FIRM

Our goal: creating products intelligently and rationally while respecting the environment and society.

We don’t measure our performance in terms of a certain ranking, but on each member of staff’s ability and willingness to help the company thrive.

It’s how we protect our independence! We work towards it on a daily basis by passing on our values to each and every generation.

ENCOURAGING DISABLED CITIZENS TO JOIN OUR WORKFORCE

The company has recruited two specialist educators to its staff so that we can successfully welcome disabled workers.

  • Four deaf employees work in specially adapted production roles. Sandy, Brio’Gel’s sign language teacher, has taught 70 employees basic sign language: watch the video.
  • More than 15 disabled employees work in specially adapted roles which were once sub-contracted out, namely counting and packing
  • By the end of 2017, we will have opened our own laundry room.

Our objective here is to give genuine INDEPENDENCE – particularly financial independence – to disabled workers previously on state-approved supported work programmes.

Our aim is to help them move towards a new stage in their professional lives: becoming EXTRA-ORDINARY colleagues as they transition into the ordinary world of work.

OUR CSR POLICY

Our environmental policy involves the following:

  • An assessment of our carbon footprint so that we can better control and reduce our waste. This assessment, managed by ADEME (the French agency for environmental protection and energy management), provides methodologies for and measurements of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Investing in glycol chiller systems rather than refrigerators that use very environmentally damaging refrigerants.
  • Implementing a policy of reducing and recycling waste whenever possible (for instance, meat-free food mixtures and cardboard).
  • Implementing an energy management system which allows us to cut off the electricity to certain equipment to avoid spikes in our usage.

SOCIAL PROJECTS

  • In response to requests from employees who were struggling to find childcare, companies SODEBO and Brio’Gel and the Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu local authority invested in a new nursery.
  • A charity known as Réussir Vendée (“Succeed in Vendée”) has been created with the backing of the Apprentis d’Auteuil organisation. It aims to help 16- to 25-year-olds who are socially disadvantaged or underperforming at school to achieve new educational or professional goals at the end of a training period.
